A question maybe you should ask God
Here’s a good one--
“…And it came to pass that Jared spake again unto his brother, saying, Go and inquire of the Lord whether he will drive us out of the land. And if he will drive us out of the land, cry unto him, Whither shall we go? RE Ether 1:3
I’m not one-hundred percent sure what the prompt was behind Jared asking his brother to ask this question of the Lord. Of course, this Jared is that Jared which “…came forth with his brother and their families, with some others and their families, from the great tower, at the time the Lord confounded the language of the people and sware in his wrath that they should be scattered upon all the face of the earth. And according to the word of the Lord, the people were scattered." (RE Ether 1:2). Jared could probably sense that the Lord is pissed, His spirit is withdrawing, and He is letting the wicked punish themselves, in a sense, by letting them pursue their own evil course until it destroys them and the Lord takes action by rearranging some of the people and conditions in His worldwide vineyard.
Jared is likely thinking to himself, "we better get the hell out of Dodge while the gettin’ is good." He asks his brother to dial up the Lord, pose the question, and see if a transfer away from here is possible before the shit hits the proverbial fan. Of course, the Lord responds to his question which is the story of the book of Ether.
Today the shit’s not far from that same fan. Given current conditions in society, there’s probably some gettin’ we ought to do while the gettin’ is good. Yes?
Jus sayin, if you think you might need some rearranging, in whatever form it takes, ask the damned question before the period of grace is passed.

John The-Not-So-Beloved
